In Karen State, according to local residents of Hpa- An, the middle concrete pillar at the bottom of the bridge was damaged due to a bomb attack on a bridge of the Hpa An-Thaton Road section.
An unknown group bombed bridge No. 2/13 on the Hpa An-Thaton road at around 1:35 a.m. last September 22, damaging the bottom pillar of the bridge and causing trouble in traffic, according to Ba An residents.
“The damage was on the side coming from Hpa-An, the bottom pillar was partially broken. I don’t know if the mine was heavy or light but I heard a loud noise, said a resident of Hpa-An.
A motorist said that due to the damage to the bottom of the bridge, the bridge is leaning a little and going through depending on and checking the situation.
“The bridge is not destroyed, the explosion at the bottom pillar caused the bridge to lean a little, there is nothing too much roadblock but many can’t go through at once,” he said.
After the explosion, the Military Council conducted an inspection and found a pole ladder and a combat hat with the KNU/KNLA logo.
There are frequent explosions on the Hpa An-Thaton road, and last July 10, there were explosions resulting from a bomb’s attack on a bridge near Burin Nyi Gu at the Hpa An-Thaton road causing some damage to the bridge and blocking the road, according to local news sources.
