In Karen State, the military council army and the KNLA joint forces clashed in the Kale-Ta Khun Taing village group, and the military council army launched an aerial bombardment as well, causing nearly 2,000 residents to run away.
There was a fierce battle between the military council army and the KNLA joint forces in the middle of Kale village and Myoe Haung village moreover, there was an aerial attack by a Mi 35 helicopter on September 14th, at around 7:00 a.m. bringing about around 2,000 residents from Kale village and Ta Khun Taing village are moving to live in nearby villages, said a woman who fled the war.
“They shot from Monzu, between the Myoe Haung village and Kale Village and it was raining. The shooting started at around 7 a.m. The villagers from Kale Ywar Gyi, Kale Ywar Thay, Kale Monzu, and Kale-Ta Khun Taing villages, all avoid the war. Now there are thousands. If we move again today, there will be almost 2,000 people in the whole village of Kale. The rest of the people in the monastery were taken by the two vehicles,” he said.
He added that the Military Council Army bombarded the area with Mi 35 helicopters at around 9:00 a.m. on September 14, resulting in the death of a combatant from the People defense forces, as well as casualties from the Military Council Army, and homes in Kale Monzu village were also damaged.
“The battle has been going on for the whole day, and then aircraft came and fired, and the Kale Monzu hit the houses, and then the artillery also shot, so one fell from the PDF side, and about 4 or 5 of soldiers subordinated to the military council were hit and injured, and the house was hit directly about 3 to 4 houses. The backyard was destroyed when it hit the middle of the house and about 5 or 6 houses hit a little,” he said.
More than 2,000 residents fleeing the war are living in the houses of villagers in nearby villages, with around 20 to 30 people living in one house. It is said that they are facing difficulties in accommodation and transportation.
Also, on September 15, at around 5:00 a.m., a local woman in Pu Lein village said that she heard the sound of gunfire from the military council forces.
Regions in Karen State such as Myawaddy, Kawkareik, Kyondoe, and Kyar Inn Seik Gyi, Than Daung, and Hpapun, according to KNLA sources, there are clashes between the Military Council Army and KNLA joint forces almost every day.
