In Karen State, residents of Myawaddy said that following the attack on the district police station in Myawaddy, the Military Council issued a night curfew.
The drone attack hit the Myawaddy district police station last September 3rd at around 7 p.m., killing 6 members subordinated to the military council.
After the attack, the Military Council wandered by vehicle and announced a night curfew in Myawaddy town between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and ordered for opening fire of those who went out after 8:00 pm, Myawaddy town residents said.
“In the town, they were turned around by a car and issued not to go out after 8 p.m. but didn’t go towards the Kyauk Lone Gyi, only shouting in the city. They told us not to go out at night and that they had ordered to shoot if people defy it,” said a resident of Myawaddy town.
At present, the Myawaddy district police station, which was attacked, has been stationed by the military council and is firing guns at night blindly, according to residents of Myawaddy town.
In addition, PDF has been stationed in Lat Khat Taung near Myawaddy town for more than 1 month, but the Infantry battalion (275th) unit of the military council is firing heavy weapons every night. Furthermore, this morning, the military regimes fired heavy weapons toward the Lakhat Taung by aircraft, said Myawaddy town residents.
“The bombing was early in the morning with the aircraft.” At night, there was a shooting in that direction with large weapons by the Khalara 274 battalion. Now there is less traffic in the city,” he said.
